Bernhard Langer prepared for this week's defense at the Boeing Classic with a solid finish at the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship.

After a sluggish start, Langer shot 66-67 on the weekend to move all the way up to a tie for sixth place at Westchester Country Club.

Langer's final-round 69 at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge for an 18-under 198 total gave him a second victory in 2010 in the Seattle area. He also won the U.S. Senior Open at Sahalee Country Club where he edged local favorite Fred Couples by 2 shots.

Langer and Couples are back on the Champions Tour after lengthy absences due to injury issues but both demonstrated last week at the Senior Players that their games are peaking for the stretch drive.

Langer hit 50 of 56 fairways at Westchester, No. 2 in the field, and tied for 13th in greens in regulation at 75 percent. He was T12 in putting with a 29.5 average for the four rounds. Couples won his first Champions Tour major.

Rank Player   Comment Fred COUPLES The back is in better form than it's been in years and that could mean a rousing finish to the Champions Tour season for Couples. He has targeted this weeks return to Seattle, his hometown. He desperately wants this one. John COOK The disappointment was etched on his face after losing the Senior Players in another playoff but there's no discounting the fact that his game is sharp and hes capable of adding another victory or two this year. Peter SENIOR The only player with four top 10 finishes in major championships this year. He missed the Couples-Cook playoff at Westchester by 1 but moved up to No. 2 on the Charles Schwab Cup points list behind Tom Lehman. Tom LEHMAN A superb final round at Westchester moved him all the way to fourth place and enabled him to extend his lead in the Charles Schwab Cup points list to 565 points over Senior. Mark O'MEARA The defending champion finished fifth - that's back-to-back top-five finishes at the majors after a runner-up at U.S. Senior Open and a third straight top 6 (including a T6 at the 3M Championship).
