PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- The Champions Tour announced that the Regions Tradition, played at Shoal Creek in Birmingham, Alabama, will be contested at a later date next year, moving from the early May date it previously occupied to the week of June 4-10, 2012.

"We're excited about the move as it allows us to play this major championship at Shoal Creek in the best condition possible," said Champions Tour President Mike Stevens. "Initially, it was Shoal Creek's desire to host the event in June and we seized the opportunity when a later date became available for 2012."

The Regions Tradition, won by Tom Lehman this year defeating Peter Senior in a thrilling playoff, was recently voted the "Best Charity Event in Birmingham" by readers of Birmingham Magazine.

The complete Champions Tour schedule for the 2012 season is expected to be finalized later this year.
