Dick's Sporting Goods Open Voted Fan Favorite Event

ENDICOTT, N.Y. -- The Dick's Sporting Goods Open is proud to announce that it has won the award for the 2011 Fan Favorite Champions Tour Event over the Principal Charity Classic.

The contest, conducted via Facebook, enlisted participants to answer 10 Trivia Questions associated with the Champions Tour. Points were accumulated by correctly answering timed questions. Upon completion of the questions, fans voted their accumulated points towards the Champions Tour Event of their choice.

The contest began a number of weeks ago with the full list of Champions Tour Events and ran until Friday, July 29 at noon. Dick's Sporting Goods Open fans, sponsors and volunteers battled throughout the night against the Principal Charity Classic for the title of 2011 Fan Favorite Event. At approximately 1am the Dick's Sporting Goods Open took the lead in points and continued to compete fiercely until the contest ended, winning by 1.3 million votes.
