The Champions Tour returns to the Dominican Republic this week for The Cap Cana Championship at Punta Espada Golf Club.
Three-time Champions Tour winner Keith Fergus will defend the title he won by 1 stroke last year over Mark O'Meara and Andy Bean. A hole-out from 95 yards for an eagle on the 17th hole capped a comeback for Fergus, who trailed by 4 shots at one point during the final round. It was the first of two victories on the season for Fergus, who also won the Regions Charity Classic.
This is the third trip to Cap Cana for the Champions Tour. Mark Weibe won the inaugural event in 2008 with a 14-under-par 202 total. Fergus, with rounds of 68-68-67, shot 203 last year. The competitive course record is held by Bernhard Langer, who shot 8-under 64 while finishing T6 behind Fergus.

Catch him if you can. That's been the theme for the start of the Champions Tour campaign. He's been a world-beater and he'll be the man to catch every time he tees it up until somebody proves differently. Punta Espada's instincts as a big golf course should suit him. |

Bernhard LANGER |
Set the course record, 64, at Punta Espada last year. His streak of eight straight top-10 finishes dating back to last summer ended with T17 at Toshiba Classic but he's still off to a stellar start. In 12 rounds, only failed to shoot in the 60s three times. |

Loren ROBERTS |
He's always in the hunt and has moved up in each start, from a T13 at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai to T5 the last two events, at Allianz and Toshiba. He's a combined 38-under-par in four starts with 10 rounds out of 12 in the 60s. |

Mark O'MEARA |
He finished with rounds of 65-68 last year at Punta Espada but it wasn't quite good enough. He'd love to make amends by winning for the first time. He can rely on solid putting - he's top nine in both categories, including No. 5 with 28 putts per round. |

 |
Keith FERGUS |
He's been working hard in preparation of his title defense. Punta Espada is in his wheelhouse. He's long off the tee - No. 5 on the Champions Tour in driving distance this year with 287.9 yard average. Best finish this year: T6 in Hawaii. Island golf suits him. |
