Chris Kirk joined the two-win club this season on the Nationwide Tour thanks to his victory on Sunday at the Knoxville News Sentinel Open.

Kirk became the third player to have multiple wins this season thanks to his back-nine 31 as he finished 20 under for the week. Kirk, who vaulted from fourth to first on the tour's money list, joins Tommy Gainey and Martin Piller as the others with two victories each this season.

Kirk, who was born in Knoxville, Tennessee but attended college at Georgia, is in his third season on the Nationwide Tour and earlier this season won the Fort Smith Classic.

"This win was a lot harder than the first one," Kirk said after Sunday's win. "In Fort Smith I felt like I could have made every putt one-handed if I wanted to. This one was tough. I had to work for this one and it was a lot more rewarding in that respect."

The tour moves to Pennsylvania for the Mylan Classic presented by Consol Energy and will be played in Canonsburg at Southpointe Golf Club, about 18 miles southwest of Pittsburgh.

Lending his name as an honorary chairman of the tournament is Arnold Palmer, a native of Pennsylvania who still has a home in Latrobe, Pa.

"I have the utmost respect and appreciation for the Nationwide Tour and the significant impact it has on the PGA TOUR," Palmer said in April.

Palmer's grandson, Sam Saunders, who played at Clemson, is among the players in the field this week.

Palmer would no doubt appreciate the grinding players are doing on the Nationwide Tour with nine tournaments left on the schedule. Players are battling it out each week to enhance their place on the money list because at the end of the season the top 25 get PGA TOUR cards for 2011.

He is at a solid 13th in 'THE 25' and won earlier this year, but hadn't done much until this past week. Look for him to continue to play well. In his last four starts, he's been very consistent with tie for 21st, a second, a tie for 19th and a tie for second. Matt DAVIDSON Just might be one of the hottest players on the Nationwide Tour with a tie for fourth and a tie for third in his last two tournaments. This past week, he shot 73-67-67-64 and finished at 17 under. Davidson, who played at Furman, has played in just seven Nationwide Tour tournaments and is 61st on the money list. Mark HENSBY Beware of the veteran late in the season. At age 38, Hensby has played eight times on the Nationwide Tour this season and is coming off a tie for fifth in Knoxville. Martin PILLER Despite missing the cut last week he won earlier this month in Omaha. He has had five top-10s this season and is fourth on the money list.
