In the previous 10 years of the Schwab Cup, only five winners have held the lead from after the season's final major through the final event, the Charles Schwab Cup Championship. And since 2005, the lead has switched hands four times.

Bernhard Langer's 790-point lead in 2010 was the second-largest in Schwab Cup history at that point of the season. Tom Watson had a 958-point lead in 2003, and also won the prize.

Here's a chart of how the Charles Schwab Cup race has stood after the last major championship has been played and how it has ended up.
